Friedrich Ani
Stellar kiss
In his little heart he carries
the traces of a little happiness from
Perlach up to Mittersendling, where
Anastasia accepted his lunch snack and
he in exchange received a stellar kiss. Sometimes
he stretched his hand out towards the sky. There
high above she lives today, and he with
bags full of bric-a-brac in the cellarland.

Sternenkuss
In seinem kleinen Herzen trägt er
Spuren kleinen Glücks von
Perlach bis nach Mittersendling, wo
Anastasia sein Pausenbrot bekam und
er dafür den Sternenkuss. Manchmal
streckt er seine Hand zum Himmel. Da
oben wohnt sie heut und er mit
Tüten voller Tand im Kellerland.

+ About the author / Zum Autor
Friedrich Ani was born in 1959 in Kochel am See. The son of a Syrian father and a Silesian mother, came of age in Bavaria. While still in high school, he already authored several theater pieces and radio dramas. During the 1980s, he was a law enforcement correspondent for a local Munich newspaper and later went on to study at the University of Television and Film Munich. He is the author of more than thirty highly successful crime fiction novels and twenty or so screenplays, for which he has been showered with overwhelming praise as well as the prestigious Bavarian TV Award. His crime fiction is second to none in the German literary culture. Using the crime fiction format, Friedrich Ani believes that he is able to embody the dissonant and chaotic vibe of the Bavarian capital, while subverting popular tendencies that he thinks portrays Munich in all too idyllic or traditional terms. Friedrich Ani is also a member of the Munich Turmschreiber and the German P.E.N. Center. Opulently decorated for his prose, Friedrich Ani, however, is also a fine poet who is capable of an intense meditative tone as much as a loud spoken word style.
